The challenges of the modern digital society are considered. In this new society the variability and uncertainty of the transitive space are associated with new difficulties allied with the need to operationalize new technologies, including working with gadgets and virtual technologies – a helmet, glasses and a room. At the same time, new opportunities arise that provide people with both intellectual systems (artificial intelligence, neural networks, robots, etc.) and new additional spaces, as well as modern films and TV series, in the process of constant watching of which people identify themselves with the characters of these serials. Such opportunities help people cope with the anxieties and depressions caused by the constant complexities of the environment. However, a high degree of immersion in a virtual or additional space also brings new problems, first of all, a decrease in orientation in reality, disruption of communication with others. To study the degree of immersion in virtual space and to study various aspects of the cognitive and emotional state caused by this immersion, a questionnaire developed by British scientists and supplemented in 2004 by American psychologists is used. All versions of the questionnaires have not yet been translated into Russian and have not been adapted for the Russian-speaking sample. The article analyzes the parameters of the questionnaire, reveals the scales included in it. Particular attention is paid to approaches to the translation of scales into Russian and its evaluation by experts (native speakers of English and Russian, as well as professional psychologists). The final version of the Russian-language version of the questionnaire is presented. Work on statistical methods for validating the questionnaire is ongoing. The results of this work will be presented in the next article.
