A review of an article by the French microbiologist, geneticist and Nobel Prize winner in Physiology or Medicine François Jacob, dedicated to the topic of Science Communication, is presented. The position of the author on the need for scientists and researchers to communicate with the scientific community and present their research to the general public is highlighted. Within the framework of this article, scientists focus on the first aspect. Two aspects of scientific activity are considered: “day science” and “night science”, where the first is presented as scientific knowledge verified and thought out by the researcher, as a result of scientific thought, and the second – as the process of constructing a hypothesis by the researcher, forming “skeleton” of research, as an indefinite and partly creative stage of scientific activity. The article tells about the lack of opportunities for all the hypotheses of the researcher to be realized in “day science” and about the randomness of the researcher finding the hypothesis he needs. The importance of the researcher's ability to competently and effectively express his thoughts in written and oral forms and bring constantly moving ideas into a static narrative reasoning, thereby, as it were, “freeze” his stream of thoughts is noted. The importance of the formation of a researcher's own scientific style is emphasized. Style is understood as a certain point of view of a scientist on the world, as well as his way of doubting the concepts already existing in the world. The problems faced by scientists in the process of writing papers on scientific research are discussed. At the end of the review of the article by Francois Jacob, the importance of the topic raised by the author is emphasized.
