Mental burnout is a pressing issue in modern clinical practice, significantly impacting the mental health of professionals and the quality of services they provide. Given increasing demands on the professional competence and emotional stability of social workers, identifying the factors contributing to burnout and developing effective preventive strategies are particularly important.
The purpose of this study was to present the results of testing a proprietary psychocorrectional program to combat burnout in workers in socionomic professions.
Methods. The following diagnostic methods were used: the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI), adapted by N.E. Vodopyanova and E.S. Starchenkova; the Volitional Self-Control Questionnaire by A.G. Zverkov and E.V. Eidman; the Subjective Experience of Loneliness Scale (SEL) (S.V. Dukhnovsky); the TDO-P Dispositional Optimism Test (TDO-P) (T.O. Gordeeva, O.A. Sychev, E.N. Osin); and the TIPI-RU Brief Five-Factor Personality Inventory (TIPI-RU) (A.S. Sergeeva et al.). Participants were social workers (preschool and school teachers). The sample consisted of 13 women aged 35 to 53, with 10 to 29 years of work experience.
Results. An empirical test of the effectiveness of the experimental psychocorrectional program demonstrated positive changes in burnout indicators and personality traits among social workers after resource-development training.
Conclusions. The presented pilot study of the original psychocorrectional program demonstrated that the systematic use of methods aimed at developing internal resources and reducing the impact of risk factors contributes to increased psychological resilience and a reduction in burnout symptoms.
