The difference between the concepts of “way of life” and “lifestyle” is discussed. It is shown that the “way of life” is related to the objective space – the time of everyday life, and the “lifestyle” – to the subjective, personal space-time. The predestination of the “way of life” as an objective component of the chronotope of everyday life is associated with external determination and does not depend on the person. The subjective component as a style of everyday life is characterized as a sphere of individual choices and individual responsibility, self-determination and free construction of the individual’s life path. It is argued that the chronotope of everyday life combines the stability of the typical (way of life) and the transformation, variability and development inherent in individualization (lifestyle). It is argued that the complex dialectic of stability / variability correlates with the dialectic of tradition / innovation in modern transitive everyday life, when everyday life as a sphere of routine and typical becomes “a place for the formation of meaning, the discovery of rules”. The carried out theoretical analysis shows that the construction of a lifestyle as an individual chronotope of everyday life is both a tool and a space-time of self-construction and self-realization of an individual. In the optics of the aesthetic paradigm, the genesis of the concept of “spots of time” is considered, its connection with the stylistic features of the English romantic canon, including the cult of individuality, the shift in the attention of art to the inner world of the individual and their experiences, the interest of romanticism in the everyday life of a person, the desire to show its significance and value to the individual by means of art. Everyday life is considered as a source of individual experiences “spots of time”. The main functions of “spots of time” are highlighted as an internal form of a psychological chronotope. An understanding of the process of chronotopizing everyday life is given, when “places of time” become points of bifurcation of personality development, determining the directions of future development or verification of an already established system of values. The heuristicity of the “spots of time” concept for psychology is associated with the integration of space, time and experience.
