New Psychological Research

From the editor

Editor-in-chief of the journal «New psychological research» T. D. Martsinkovskaya, Moscow, 18 March 2022

Dear colleagues, I am glad to present the first issue of our journal in the new 2022, year.

It opens with an extremely important theoretical and methodological article by E.A. Sergienko, devoted to the once again topical problem of the relationship between sign and symbol. The significance of the analysis presented in this article is connected with the modern context of the discussion of this subject, since the reflection of the denoting and the signified is considered within the framework of the heterochrony of the maturation of metacognitive capable children.

I would like to draw the attention of readers to the comparison of two approaches to the problem of emotional experience, presented in the articles by L.A. Kretova and M.E. Osipov. If L.A. Kretova reveals the potential of an existential approach to emotional experiencing as a consolation to the “Another”, then M.E. Osipov explores the change in the approach to the term “peresivanie” throughout the scientific route of L.S. Vygotsky.

In the article by T.D. Martsinkovskaya and N.S. Polevoy examines the ratio of sharp and fluid crises occurring in real and virtual space in a pandemic situation, and shows the positive role of emotional experience gained in a virtual situation on adaptation to crisis situations in a pandemic.

An empirical study of impact of psychological characteristics, in particular the locus of control, for experiencing a pandemic situation is presented in the work of T.P. Emelyanova, T.A. Nestik and T.V. Semenova. The authors convincingly reveal the predictors of the internal locus of control that helps to cope with the pandemic situation.

Thus, it can be stated that the situation of the pandemic remains in the center of attention of psychology.

In the article by M.S. Egorova, O.V. Parshikova, Yu.D. Chertkova and O.V. Mitina was investigated the little-studied phenomenon of the relationship between basic values and the traits of the “dark triad” in mothers and daughters. The new data obtained in this work raises many important questions related, among other things, to the attitude to the very phenomenon of the “dark triad” and its manifestations.

In their article, the final of this volume, N.Yu. Fedunina and E.Yu. Korobeinikova again raise the question of metacognitive abilities, but already in the specific plan of developing a questionnaire that allows assessing metacognitive aspects in the training and education of athletes.
