The results of the continuation of the study conducted in 2019 with the participation of Tuvan urban and rural adolescents are presented in the article. The results of a study involving adolescents living in the Moscow region are described. The purpose of the study is to compare the features of Internet use by Tuvan teenagers and adolescents living in the Moscow region. The collection of empirical data was carried out by the questionnaire method. A specially designed questionnaire was used to identify the characteristics of using social networks. The general characteristics of user activity and use of social networks are analyzed, the age of the beginning of Internet use, the number of accounts in social networks, the time spent on the Internet, etc. were revealed. The study involved 368 adolescents aged 11–17 years. Sample: Tuvan adolescents (Kyzyl, Republic of Tyva, N = 162), adolescents of the Moscow region (comparison group) (Balashikha, Moscow region, N = 206). The results showed a decrease in the age of Internet use compared to the data of other studies. Teenagers from the Moscow region start using the Internet earlier and spend more time on the Internet. The data obtained confirm the leading importance of the communicative component of the Internet and the importance for adolescents of real friendship rather than virtual. Despite the variety of information sources and the availability of the proposed information fields, adolescents from the Moscow region than Tuvan adolescents have contradictory data on some issues (trust in the Internet, bloggers, etc.).
